Schone Zaken in Groningen

Schone Zaken opened its doors almost 20 years ago already and was still missing on our blog. That’s just not right, is it? So recently I visited this sustainable clothing store in Groningen. What I found? Lots and lots of fair trade and organic clothes! And a really nice lady( the owner) who, amongst other things, told me about one of the challenges of smaller sustainable brands.

Viva Groningen

More and more secondhand and vintage clothing stores open their doors in Groningen. We like! Viva was located at the Nieuweweg before and after that in the Oosterstraat for a while. When we planned our annual ‘New Years Eve’ city trip this past fall, we looked up the vintage stores in the cities of our choice right away. Birmingham, UK it was going to be. And while Birmingham does not have as much to offer as say Londen, we found quite a few good addresses. Most of them are in the raw up-and-coming neighbourhood Digbeth. Hotspot in Groningen: Handmade Hopes

Handmade hopes 1A while ago we visited Handmade Hopes in the Oosterstraat in Groningen. We’d been there before, but never thought of making pictures for our blog even though we really love some of the things they sell. Handmade Hopes is an interior and gift store and even outside you are being seduced by cute bagpacks for kids, toys and lovely postcards.
